Why Language Test Scores Expire
April 02, 2025 · GELPS Blog
Most English proficiency tests, including GELPS, have a two-year score validity period. This is because language proficiency can change over time with practice or disuse. Institutions need current scores that reflect a test-taker’s present ability to succeed in an English-medium environment. GELPS scores are valid for two years from the test date, after which test-takers can retake the exam to demonstrate their current proficiency level.
