How do I register for the GELPS?
Visit our registration page to create your account. You will need to provide your full name, email address, a valid government-issued ID, and select a test center or the online testing option. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email with further instructions.
How much does the test cost?
The GELPS test costs $59. If you are testing through a partner institution, the fee may be covered by your test center — please check with them for details.
What do I need to take the test?
You will need:
- A computer with a working camera and microphone
- A stable internet connection
- A quiet, private room
- A valid government-issued photo ID
GELPS cannot be taken on a phone or tablet.
How long does the test take?
The adaptive test takes approximately 45 minutes, plus a 10-minute video interview section.
When will I get my results?
Results are typically available within 2 days of completing the test.
Can I retake the test?
Yes, you can retake the GELPS. Check our Terms of Service for retake policies.
How is the GELPS scored?
GELPS scores range from 10 to 100, aligned to CEFR levels. Learn more about scoring.
How do I send my scores to institutions?
Log into your account and select the institutions you want to receive your scores. You can send to unlimited institutions at no extra cost.
