The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is the international standard for describing language proficiency. GELPS scores are aligned to CEFR levels from A1 (beginner) to C2 (mastery). This alignment helps institutions, employers, and test-takers understand what a GELPS score means in practical terms. A B2 level (GELPS 70–85) indicates the ability to communicate effectively on familiar topics, while C1 (GELPS 90–95) demonstrates advanced professional and academic proficiency.
